Overwhelmed? Anxious? Repeating the same old cycles of conflict or self sabotage? Relationships, raising a family, finances, career progression and daily living pressures can all be challenging at times and sometimes it just feels like we get stuck in a repeating loop of poor emotional wellbeing.


Or perhaps life is good. You have many things going well in your life and want to achieve a specific personal goal but keep getting stuck.


It is common to find ourselves repeating the same unhelpful patterns and getting frustrated with the results; conflict in family life, feelings of failure, frustrations at being ignored or under valued. We reach out for unhelpful coping mechanisms only to find the problems still exist the next day, next week, next month and sadly, often the next year. We can lose years (even decades) of our lives doing the same things over and over, leaving us feeling anxious, stressed, unfulfilled and unhappy.


I can help. My background in counselling, CBT and coaching means I can personalise my support to suit your needs. My counselling approach is integrative with a psychodynamic influence. This means that I have a breadth and depth of knowledge with which to help you understand things more deeply. My cognitive behavioural therapy and coaching experience enable me to support you in change and growth with both practical strategies and a strong cognitive toolkit. 


I offer the opportunity to think about things in a confidential and comfortable space. We start from where you are now. What is going on for you at the moment and what do you want out of therapy or coaching?

Together we can explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives – and perhaps a new understanding of yourself and your world. Our work together is rooted in curiosity and compassion.

I help you develop practical and cognitive tools to enable a more satisfying and fulfilling life. These things are available to us all and I am passionate about supporting you in developing them for yourself.


Why Coaching?

Coaching enables you to grow in all areas of your life. We can have many different goals in life; relationships, parenting, career goals, confidence, health, finance. We are often held back in our goals due to personal blockers that are hidden to us. Unconscious reactions and biases developed over a lifetime of exposure to a wide variety of experiences. My unique position as a therapist and coach means I can help you more deeply understand yourself and where those blockers might exist. In developing this deeper understanding of 'you' we can then work together to create goals that are suited to you. Goals that feel achievable and longer lasting change that is sustainable.

Why Therapy?

Life can feel so challenging when you feel stuck in your issues. Lack of confidence might be holding you back at work or in your relationships. Anxiety, depression, stress, anger, procrastination and more, can really get in the way of daily life as well as holding you back from your future dreams and goals. We want fulfilling relationships but we get trapped in repeated patterns of conflict that erode rather than improve our connections with loved ones. We can feel unheard but lack the skills to make ourselves understood and valued by others. Perhaps we also struggle to value ourselves. That negative inner voice can exacerbate feelings of low self-worth, damage relationships, hinder personal development and leave us in a position of poor mental health.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

I use my training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help address the immediate needs of what is happening ‘right now’. Practical skills to help reduce anxiety, depression, stress, overthinking, anger, phobias and more. For some people, this is all that is needed and I support clients on this basis. But it can be increasingly beneficial to then work together more deeply to understand ‘you’.

Understanding 'You'

In the same way that we learn a language in order to communicate, our formative experiences teach us an emotional language; who we are as individuals, how we react to things, make decisions and cope with conflict. I utilise my integrative training and awareness of psychodynamic theory to help us explore ‘you’ more deeply. In doing so, we can develop a better understanding of your learnt behaviours and identify areas that are not serving you well in your current life.

Creating Change

As we develop personal insights, we can work together on change, developing new habits, adapting how you relate to others, prioritising your self care and self awareness and helping you cope more easily with life’s challenges. We can develop new ways of thinking and reacting that are more effective for you and which can lead to a positive state of mental health and a greater sense of fulfilment.

My Location

I work from a private practice located in Ferndown and see clients from Wimborne, West Moors, Ringwood, Verwood, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole as well as the surrounding New Forest areas. I will provide location details when we arrange our therapy sessions.

In addition to providing face-to-face therapy, I also offer telephone and online (Zoom) sessions for clients who cannot easily see me face-to-face or who are located elsewhere in the UK and overseas.

Fees & availability

Sessions last 50 minutes, usually taking place on a weekly basis and cost £60 per session. I work Monday to Thursday daytime and evenings. Please contact me to enquire about current availability.

Note that if you need to cancel an appointment I require 24 hours notice. Cancellation for any reason with under 24 hours notice will incur the full fee, except under exceptional circumstances. I accept payment by bank transfer prior to each session.
